Forged Wheel Information Guide

Types of Wheels

Compare one-piece, two-piece, and three-piece constructions to find the right platform for your build.

Wheel Construction Overview

Each configuration offers a different balance of weight, customization, and repairability. One-piece monoblock wheels deliver seamless strength; multi-piece designs unlock deeper fitment flexibility for bespoke applications.

Monoblock Wheels

Monoblock wheels are crafted from a single piece of forged aluminum or magnesium, providing exceptional strength and lightweight performance. This design offers a seamless, high-performance wheel solution.

2-Piece Wheels

Two-piece wheels feature a separate rim and center section that are bolted together, allowing for greater customization in fitment and offset. They strike a balance between performance and versatility.

3-Piece Wheels

Three-piece wheels are constructed from separate components: a rim, a center, and an outer barrel. This design provides maximum customization and repairability, making them perfect for high-end, bespoke builds.

Material Options

Choose the material that best matches your performance goals and driving style.

Forged Magnesium

Forged magnesium wheels are about 20–30% lighter than forged aluminum wheels. This substantial weight savings leads to improved handling, faster acceleration, and better braking, making them perfect for high-performance and racing applications.

Forged Aluminum

Forged aluminum wheels are known for their excellent strength and durability. They provide a balanced blend of performance and customization, making them a versatile choice for both everyday driving and spirited performance.

Design & Engineering

ERA Designs offers both custom design and engineering—tailored to the specific vehicle, for fitments including big brake kits, lowered suspensions, aggressive alignments, and wider tire setups.

Design & Engineering

Engineering
Sizes, offsets, fitment, and validation for real-world use.
Design
Spoke layout, profile, and the details that shape presence.
Profile & Offset
Concavity, ET, and how the wheel sits on the car.
FEA Testing
Simulated loads to validate strength before production.
Engineering
Sizes, offsets, fitment, and validation for real-world use.

Engineering includes sizes, offsets, and fitment information. Brake and suspension clearance, vehicle-specific details, load rating, and strength testing validation for real-world use.

Figure (b) – Design

Design is the look and style of the wheel. Spoke layout, profile, and the details that shape its overall presence.

Profile & Offset
Concavity, ET, and how the wheel sits on the car.

Figure (c) – Profile & Offset

Profile = the concavity and how "deep" the wheel face sits.

Offset (ET) = the wheel's position on the car.

A higher ET will tuck the wheel further inside the fender, while a lower ET will push it further outside the fender. Adjusting for clearance and stance.

FEA Testing
Simulated loads to validate strength before production.

Finishes & Options

Finishes define the final look and can be tailored for a subtle OEM+ feel or a more aggressive, high-contrast setup.

Custom colors, sheens, and textures are available to match the vehicle, accents, or brand theme. Sheen levels include Matte, Satin, and Gloss. Premium metal textures include Brushed, Machined, and High Polished.

Sheen Levels

Matte (Low Sheen)

A flat, non-reflective finish for a subtle, understated look.

Satin (Medium Sheen)

A balanced finish with soft reflection—our most popular choice.

Gloss (High Sheen)

A deep, mirror-like shine for maximum visual impact.

Texture Levels

Brushed

High texture, low reflection. Visible grain for a premium motorsport feel.

Machined

Low texture, medium reflection. Precision-cut surfaces with clean highlights.

High Polished

No texture, high reflection. Mirror-finish lip and face details.

Custom Options & Upgrades

Available Upgrades
